JENN SHAW is a DGA award-winning director and executive producer celebrated for her genre-bending stories that champion underdogs, embrace inner quirks, and explore unique cultural experiences. Known for a bold, cinematic style blending humor and drama with a love for fantasy, coming-of-age, and sports, Jenn brings a distinct flair to her projects.
Before stepping into directing, she led as a producer at ESPN’s Creative Works, overseeing major campaigns like the Nissan Heisman House and Infiniti NCAA Coach’s Charity Challenge. With over 60 commercials, documentaries, and narrative shorts to her credit, her directorial work has premiered at top festivals including Tribeca, HollyShorts, the Pan African Film Festival, and the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. In 2017, her ESPN film $15 Kicks, executive produced by Spike Lee, won a Black Reel Award. Jenn’s talent for character-driven storytelling shines in campaigns for brands like Ford Explorer, The Woman King, Hyundai, and Brach’s.
In 2022, she directed the three-part series Running While Black for Adidas and Vice, produced by Religion of Sports. In the narrative realm, Jenn directed several shorts including I Won the Lottery…, Charlie and the Hunt, and Gaps—the last of which was executive produced by Queen Latifah through the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival P&G Queen Collective Initiative, earning Jenn a 2024 NAACP Image Award nomination.
Currently, Jenn is attached to direct her debut feature, a fantasy rom-com titled Miss Alexander. Her agent is Sola Fashum and is managed by Elissa Friedman at Zero Gravity.
